10ft Offshore Container, Custom Logo | DNV 2.7-1 | LongTeng Industrial

Created on 10.08
A 10ft offshore container is a closed steel unit on a ten-foot footprint, built to be crane-lifted fully loaded onto a platform, set down on deck, and lifted again — hundreds of times over a service life measured in decades. Welded frame, forged pad eyes on primary members, forklift pockets, and a certified four-leg sling set.
It is not a cut-down shipping container. A shipping container is designed to be stacked and carried; an offshore container is designed to be lifted. We build it to DNV 2.7-1 / EN 12079-1 / ISO 10855, with certification arranged through the class society the operator names.
This unit is also a branded one. The operating company's logo is part of the order, not an afterthought, so it is settled on the drawing alongside the structure and the coating.

A Short Box Is Not a Small Version of a Long Box

The load case on a 10ft offshore container is not the 20ft case scaled down. Two things change, and both land on the top of the box.
  • Sling geometry gets less forgiving as the unit gets shorter.
  • The sling angle depends on the spreader, not on us.
  • Corner castings get borrowed.
So the top structure here is sized from the sling geometry we agree with you, and the pad eye backing is designed as primary structure rather than as a fitting welded onto a panel.

How We Build It

The frame. Fabricated from structural steel and welded to ISO 1161 corner casting geometry on a jig, so the lifting and stacking interfaces stay inside tolerance on a box whose length gives you no room to absorb error.
The shell. Corrugated steel, welded into the frame. Rivets on a unit that spends its life in salt spray are an invitation to the first leak.
The pad eyes. Forged, not cast. Each eye is individually tested and carries a serial number tracing back to the certification file for that unit.
The doors. Multi-point locking rods, stainless hardware and gasketed leaves, because a gasket that no longer meets is the usual source of water ingress on an older unit.
The coating. A C5-M marine system applied in stages — shot blast to Sa 2.5, epoxy zinc-rich primer, epoxy intermediate, polyurethane topcoat — 280 μm minimum DFT, verified by gauge at recorded points.
The lifting set. A four-leg certified set matched to this unit, proof load tested, with the sling length and angle range stated on the certificate.

The Logo Is an Engineering Item

A logo on an offshore container is easy to promise and awkward to get right, because it has to survive the same environment as the box. What matters is that it is decided before coating, not added after.
  • It is placed on the drawing.
  • It goes into the coating sequence.
  • We ask for artwork in a usable form
  • Fleet units stay consistent.
If your operator has a marking standard that covers more than a logo — fleet numbers, examination-due stencils, functional labels — send it with the enquiry and it goes into the same drawing.

How an Engineer-to-Order Unit Runs

Nothing is cut until step 3 is signed.
  1. Technical review
  1. Drawing and calculation package
  1. Release to production
  1. Fabrication
  1. Testing
  1. Pre-delivery inspection

What Ships With the Unit

  • DNV 2.7-1 / EN 12079-1 / ISO 10855 certification
  • Data plate
  • Pad eye certificates
  • Sling set certificate
  • NDT reports
  • Coating report
The examination regime is part of the product: 12-month visual examination, with full re-certification by an independent body on the cycle the certifying society sets. We handle re-certification as a service.
Third-party inspection is welcome at any stage — CCS, BV, LR, DNV, or your own nominated inspector.

Where It Is Built

LongTeng Industrial has manufactured containers for thirteen years from a 50,000 m² works with two production lines. Welding on primary lifting structure is carried out in our own shop and NDT'd before the unit is signed off.
  • No trading margin sits inside the number
  • Engineering in-house
  • Schedule
  • Repeatability

Build Options

  • Doors
  • Internal fit-out
  • Insulation and lining
  • Electrical
  • Ventilation
  • Lifting
  • Floor
  • Marking
  • Coating

Where These Units Go

  • Deck storage and small tool stores on platforms and rigs
  • Drilling consumables and short pipe on a certified lifting unit
  • Support-vessel stores where deck space is counted in square metres
  • Project cargo on offshore wind and subsea construction campaigns
  • Rental fleets, where a repeatable branded unit matters more than a one-off price
